Before I Go With You Today
Liana Hanokaee
If you want me to go with you today,
Just let me know G-d rules the day.
If you want me to go with you today,
Don’t let me lose peace and harmony.
If you want to go with me today,
tell me you want righteous kids.
And if that’s not what you want,
I’ll leave you to lay, I’ll leave you to lay.
And if G-d’s there, I know it’s ok.
And if love runs out, this was all a play.
No one determines the fate of each day
In between two voices, we wind our way
I say
And if G-d’s there, I know it’s ok.
And if love runs out, this was all a play.
No one determines the fate of each day
In between two voices, we wind our way
I say
Hashem is here. Hashem is real.
But how can I know?
Cuz he told me not to steal?
Because of cells and their dance with DNA?
Or all the different sparks of souls nested in different bodies?
But how can I know?
Cuz he told me not to steal?
Because of cells and their dance with DNA?
Or all the different sparks of souls nested in different bodies?
Hashem, don’t let me fall.
Don’t let me lose myself with men.
I don’t want to make another entity my G-d.
I want to live again.
So before I go with you today
Just let me know G-d rules the day.
Just let me know G-d rules the day.
this reads like a song or a psalm, or a combination of both. i wonder if you could personify god's presence and relate it to how you view the world. aside from god being omnipresent, what role does god play in your life and in this poem?
